ADSL broadband is a connection provided over a standard PSTN analogue phone line, normally routed over the BT Openreach network.

The speed of ADSL broadband connections typically depends on how far away you are from the telephone exchange with the maximum download speeds varying from 1mbps to 24mbps with the upload speeds around 1.5mbps.
