It’s been very interesting. I’ve been lucky enough to work in not just the corporate world (12,000 employees plus) but in small business (think 3 three man band style organisations) in my career, so coming to Redline has been a return to the size of company I prefer to work for. It's been great getting to know some of the customers over the past couple of months when I have been dealing with queries over the phone or face to face at our walk-in office on Commercial Road.
What have you enjoyed the most so far about your new role?
There’s a lot to learn, which I’m just getting starting to wrap my head around. Certainly, being able to now make sense of the jargon the telecoms industry uses is useful in my personal life as well as professional! The welcome I have had from everyone has been very good too, and makes coming to work a pleasure.
Tell us a bit about yourself and what you enjoy doing outside the office!
There’s so much to do and so little time I find. I swim three times a week and try to get out into the countryside for a bicycle ride at least once a week. I like to read, write and curl up to watch DVD boxed sets with my partner. Any more spare time I get I tend to use helping others or playing board games. That’s when I’m not helping out with my other half’s business! It’s a hectic life, but a good one.
Finally, can you tell us your best joke? No pressure!
Nothing that’s printable! Haha
Ok, how about this one…
As a kid I was made to walk the plank. We couldn’t afford a dog.
